Child Support

Broward County Child Support Attorney

While a loving and stable environment is essential for the growth and development of a child, financial support also plays a vital role. Parents must provide financially for children regardless of the relationship status of the parents. In Florida, the amount of child support is calculated using Uniformed Child Support Guidelines, governed by Florida Statute 61.30.

Standard factors used to calculate child support in Florida including income of both parents, child care expenses, insurance premiums, and the number of overnights spent with each parent. However, every family is unique, and the Uniformed Child Support Guidelines allow for individual factors in determining child support obligations such as mandatory retirement deductions and existing child support obligations for other children.
